The MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) may not be the first Apple 13-inch Pro refresh to come out in 2020. However, unlike its predecessor, which only received some minor refinements, this latest model has been a groundbreaking release.

Just like the MacBook Air (M1, 2020) and Mac mini (M1, 2020), the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) received a major overhaul to its CPU and integrated graphics. First announced at Apple’s One More Thing event from November 10, 2020, Apple has replaced the Intel hardware on these devices with the 5nm M1 chip that they have designed themselves.

According to the company, the chip should enable the MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) to have better battery life and performance compared to the prior model packing Intel.
